Who remembers the good ole days of BCS 2000s college football every Saturday? Alabama always winning (as an Arkansas Razorback fan that stings)? Football athletes that wanted to be there at the programs instead of switching every year for a bigger paycheck?
There was a special thing about the pre NIL era. Athletes go to the programs to become men, but its not that way. Did you know the highest paid NIL player is Darian Mensah (Oregon QB) who is making $6.5 million? A 21 year old kid getting $6.5 million? Crazy.
The other thing that is also a bigger issue. LSU headcoach, Lane Kiffin, recently made headlines by suggesting bringing in Pro NFL athletes back to college. As a Razorback fan that just grinds my gears. The SEC brought a lawsuit against them. But a Louisiana Judge issued a preliminary injunction allowing him to bring NFL players who used to play for him back at Ole Miss.
Where’s the honor to just play for a team for the four years instead of jumping teams every year. And i don’t know, if the title is College Football maybe the players should be college athletes.
There needs to be an official government intervention soon, because the college football world is changing. Hell, soon we may see Aaron Rodgers (42-Pittsburgh Steelers QB) come back to College Football or Ryan Williams (19-Alabama WR) staying until he’s 27. BRING BACK COLLEGE FOOTBALL LIKE IT WAS PRE NIL!!!!
