September 19, Ms. Polo was assassinated in cold blood at the Caraz Market. She was running for Governor in the Huaylas Province. The investigation is still ongoing, but they have two people in custody.
It looks to be a contract killing, days prior Polo recently stated that she received threatening phone calls from prisons and a police general (who has not been charged) for bringing to light corruption. Polo had investigating corruption and her YouTube channel, China Polo Dominical, exposed everything.
We pray for the family and friends of Susy Ysabel Aponte Polo. Political violence has no place in this world.
